Waikiki, the Ukelele School of Lima approached me to create a character for their websites and social media posts, so I invented the bearded Meakani, whose name comes from Hawaiian for "the musician", and likes to ride the waves after a music-filled day. I made other versions: a dedicated music teacher that help students find their own inner melody, a news anchor delivering the wave updates, a Peruvian fan and a fashion icon.
